Do you know the number one reason why diets fail in the long-term? It’s impossible to get your brain to go along with making drastic changes.
There’s a simple reason for this.
A habit is a neurological pathway in your brain. This means that every habit is the equivalent of a computer program. And that program is going to be running in your brain indefinitely until you change the code (the habit loop).
So, when you start to follow a new diet or meal plan that is drastically different from what you’ve been doing, especially if you’ve been eating a certain way for a long time, your brain will eventually rebel against you and start running the old habit programs.
The only way to be successful in changing your eating habits over the long-term is to change the neurological pathway (the brain code) of each habit you want to change.

You see, a habit is a very well-constructed neurological pathway in the brain. Therefore, to change your habits, you can’t rely on willpower. Instead, you must learn how to reprogram your brain.
Secondly, get rid of all the unnecessary suffering you do around weight loss. You know, all the times you beat yourself up because you can’t follow your restrictive plan. This only drives you to eat more, and thereby, gain more weight.
Next, learn to eat when you’re hungry and stop when you’ve had enough. We did this as babies. When a baby is hungry, she cries. When she’s had enough, she spits the bottle out. We need to relearn when to eat and when to stop.
In this episode, I discuss the third of the three pillars of my WEIGHT LOSS MADE EASY program: LOSE WEIGHT THE WAY YOU WANT TO LIVE.
In other words, don’t do anything to lose weight that you’re not willing to do the rest of your life.

Most people are caught up in the “weight loss trap” because they’ve been conditioned to think that to lose weight they need to go on a diet and start to exercise.
Unfortunately, this is not a sustainable process because you’re usually restricting what you eat and doing some form of exercise that you don’t enjoy. And food restrictions always lead to binge eating.
